Wisdom and Tea: Reflections of Muslim Home-making Moms

Think. Learn. Act. Remind.

To Say or Not To Say

Words cause problems. Although like most things in this life they can be used for good and bad purposes. Problems ranging from the politics governing the world down to the one on one relationships between individuals can possibly be escalated or resolved just by words. Even the internal dialogue we have with ourselves determine our actions and how we feel.Sometimes by just not letting words complicate a matter and giving the other person the right to their views , no matter how unjustified they may seem , can actually allow a situation to resolve itself. By just letting the moment pass, sometimes issues don’t seem as important or critical to happiness as they appeared to be. Using words correctly to me is an acquired art. Not everyone can do it. Communication is important but the way we communicate is equally important.The prophet Moses prayed to Allah for just this, as mentioned in the following verses of the Quran:

[20.25] He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me,
[20.26] And make my affair easy to me,
[20.27] And loose the knot from my tongue,
[20.28] (That) they may understand my word;

Words have power, so use them wisely!
